Indeed, Jeff’s first, and long-time, client was Consumer
Reports magazine, for which he pioneered large-scale customer
satisfaction surveys in the early 1980's. He was credited
with more than a dozen cover stories, ranking brands of
the earliest generation personal computers, hotels, and
insurance companies, among other categories.
Jeff has been influential in the adoption of marketing
approaches by community foundations. Jeff was the first
to talk at the Annual Conference of the Council on Foundations
about the potential for marketing in development. JTWack
& Company conducts market and donor research for a variety
of not-for-profit organizations, the Development offices
of educational institutions, and community foundations in
